Paris Hilton fumes over lost luggage

Socialite Paris Hilton has taken aim at airline chiefs after her luggage was lost while returning here.

The reality TV star recently visited Europe and India and was returning back Oct 4 when she misplaced her luggage, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"Just landed back in LA! What an incredible trip! Loved spending time with my girls and visiting India Turkey & Ibiza! So much fun! So annoying when the airlines lose your luggage. Especially when it's 8 big suitcases of all my favourite outfits. Hope they find them," the 30-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

India's poverty leaves Paris Hilton heartbroken

Socialite Paris Hilton flew out of Mumbai early Tuesday saying she had an "eye opening" trip to "beautiful" India but was appalled by its poverty.

"India is beautiful but some parts are very poverty stricken... broke my heart to see babies sleeping on the streets. What are the most credible non-profit (charities) in India? After seeing what I've seen, I want to help make a difference," Paris tweeted before leaving the country.

The heiress, who was here on a three-day trip to launch her line of handbags for the Indian market, stunned a beggar here by tipping her $100.

The 31-year-old promptly received suggestions about a few charities in India from readers.

"Thank you all for your suggestions... It's important to give to those who are less fortunate," she added.

The blonde beauty is headed to Dubai. But she hopes to come back to India, which she earlier said was a "magical and spiritual" land.

"What an amazing and eye opening trip to India. I look forward to coming back soon. Love you all!" she tweeted.

I want to send more money says Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton hit headlines during her visit to the country for her generosity towards a Mumbai beggar, whom the American heiress had given a $100 note while on a trip to the country.

Paris, who was in India from September 24-27, was on her way to a mall on Sunday, when she spotted Ishika, a beggar in Mumbai's Andheri area, and gave her a $100 note. After that, Paris tweeted about helping people in India, and had asked for suggestions about charities that she could associate with.

But, as news broke out on Wednesday about Ishika losing the money due to a petty squabble in her family, Paris once again took to twitter to reach out to Ishika. It was reported that after Ishika realised that she'd been given a "dollar" by the foreigner, she gave it to her brother-in-law for getting it converted to Indian currency, but as soon as her relatives got to know of the money she'd got, they all started troubling her brother-in-law for a share. Enraged by their reaction, he tore the note up, without realising its value. After the news was printed in an Indian daily, Paris took to her micro blogging page on Wednesday evening, and said, "How can I reach this woman & send her even more in her currency? Can whoever interviewed her tweet me please?"

Paris Hilton snubs Kangna Ranaut

It was supposed to be a meeting that might have been a reconciliation of sorts for Bollywood actor Kangna Ranaut with international society swan Paris Hilton, after the confusion over claims of being the face of Paris’ brand.  But Paris didn’t have much to say to Kangna except for a cursory handshake at the party hosted to welcome her in Mumbai.

There was considerable confusion when Kangna made claims that her staff had been contacted by an agency to endorse Paris’s brand of accessories. The fashionista denied it and on her arrival to Mumbai, clarified that she is the face of her own brand. The party that ensued on her touchdown to Mumbai saw an eclectic guest list, which surprisingly also included Kangna and one of her staff members.

“We have Kangna on our guest list and she’s here for the same,” confirmed hotel staff. All eyes were on the duo when Kangna went up to Paris and greeted her.

“Kangna made several attempts to speak to Paris Hilton at the party, but she got mobbed as soon as she entered the venue. The host of the party Queenie graciously introduced Kangna to Paris, but she just flitted past her even before Kangna could say a ‘hi’ to her,” reveals a source present at the party.

Kangna made another attempt to get close to Paris, but the latter was busy posing with others and enjoying herself so she couldn’t apparently find the time to talk to the actor. “Just before Kangna decided to leave (post 2am), her companion went towards Paris to try and get a word with the hotel heiress. Paris continued pouting and posing for her fans. After a point, Kangna signalled her staff member to leave and both of them walked out of the party in a huff,” adds the source.

I loved Bipasha Basu: Paris Hilton

Introducing her line of handbags may have been the primary agenda of Paris Hilton’s maiden visit to Mumbai last weekend, but the heiress is ensuring she makes the most of her time here. In between events and launches related to her brand, Paris met and bonded with big names from Bollywood, the music fraternity and top business houses. And arguably the biggest outcome of her trip may be a Bollywood film.

Since she made her Hollywood debut in 2005 with House Of Wax, the actor admits she’s received hundreds of scripts from Indian filmmakers. But she has never had time to consider them. This visit, though, may have been the turning point.

“It’s not like I didn’t like those films. Some had interesting scripts with good music and great actors, but I’ve never had the time to fly to India for filming them,” says Paris, adding, “But now that I’ve visited the city and seen everything for myself, I’m definitely going to consider it more seriously.”

She admits that even a few Indian musicians have approached her to meet and discuss possible collaborations, but it’s going to be “difficult to make time for everyone.”

On Saturday night, Paris interacted with several Bollywood stars at a party hosted in her honour. “I met more than 150 people; it was a lot of fun. I loved Bipasha Basu. She’s absolutely gorgeous and really cool. I bonded with VJ Anusha too,” she gushes.

Paris’s handbag range is the first of her 17 product lines to hit Indian markets, in a tie-up with Brand Concepts, but she’s unsure of what she’ll launch here next. “The thought of introducing an apparel line here excites me. I also want to incorporate India in to my designs. I’ve noticed the colours people like here, their affinity for gold and sparkle. I know exactly what I’d like to do. In fact, I’ve already started working on it,” she informs.

Ask her if she wanted or would consider appointing an Indian celebrity as the face of her brand here and she insists, “I’m the only brand ambassador or face of my brand. I have never hired anyone to do that job; it’s only me.”

Paris promises that she’ll return to India soon, hopefully to launch more of her products. Currently, she has her hands full with a number of projects, including handling a successful Moto GP team, producing music (with Afrojack), starring in TV shows and acting in a Hollywood film. She adds, “I’m also opening a beach club in the Philippines, following which, there will be a chain of boutique hotels.”

Bollywood biggies give Hilton bash a miss

Mumbai: International celebrity Paris Hilton`s three-day India visit is the talk of the town but Bollywood doesn`t seem to care - much.
Most of the big names from the Hindi film industry stayed away from Paris` welcome party, hosted by socialite Queenie Dhody at the J.W Marriot hotel here Saturday night.

Bollywood personalities like Sonakshi Sinha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal, Dino Moreaa and Imran Khan were invited for the bash, but the only known faces who showed up were Sushmita Sen, Kangana Ranaut and Bipasha Basu.

Others who attended the bash at the Enigma club were choreographer Sandeep Soparkar, actresses Shazahn Padamsee and Gul Panag, photographer Atul Kasbekar and Pooja Bedi.

Approached for two Bollywood films: Paris Hilton

Hollywood celebrity Paris Hilton claims to have received two Bollywood offers and says she is open to working in the Hindi film industry, provided she gets suitable scripts.

"I have been approached to do two Bollywood films. But I am not keen on them. However, if a good script comes up, I am willing to do it. Bollywood films are beautiful, I love the clothes in them," said the blonde beauty who arrived here early Saturday morning.

Hilton will get a taste of Bollywood at a party organised by Indian socialite Queenie Dhody. Expected guests at the Saturday night party include Bollywood celebrities Sonakshi Sinha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal, Dino Morea and Imran Khan.

The socialite has come here to launch her line of bags, but there's a lot more on her mind during her short trip.

"I am right now here for business. I wanted to do much more but there's no time during this trip," said Hilton, who unveiled the collection at a media gathering here.

However, she does not want to miss taking back "good memories" along with "Indian saris, bindis and jewellery".

A yoga enthusiast, Hilton sported a sari for the cover shoot of an Indian fashion magazine recently, and says she adored the six-yard wonder.

"I am very inspired by Indian designers. I recently shot for the cover of Marie Claire India in a sari designed by Rocky S. He is an incredible designer. I am sure I am going to wear a sari back in the US as well," she said.

SRK too busy for Paris Hilton

Heiress and international celebrity Paris Hilton arrives in India Saturday morning and while she is expected to meet Indian celebrities during her visit, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has denied the rumours that he is hosting a party for her.

Some days back, some news reports had surfaced that suggested that SRK is set to host a party for Paris Hilton during her visit, but the actor said he is too busy at the moment.

"Some friends were planning to host a party for Paris Hilton. But I'm very busy with RA. One. So it's a little difficult. So my friends decided that if I can't come, then let it be. So we aren't having it now," Shah Rukh told reporters here at the sidelines of an event organised to announce the collaboration of his film RA.One with Western Union Money Transfers.

Paris will unveil her fall-winter designs during her three-day trip here.

Paris Hilton arrives in Mumbai

International celebrity Paris Hilton arrived in Mumbai today on her maiden visit to India to launch her line of handbags and accessories in the country.

Donning a blue long dress with sunglasses, Paris stepped out from a Turkish airline flight around 4am at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.

She will be addressing the media at 3pm on launching her line of handbags and accessories, unveiling her fall-winter designs. This move makes India the 36th country in the world to have the glamorous Paris Hilton collection.

Following this, she is expected to meet Bollywood severalities.

Paris Hilton Entertainment has entered into a tie-up with an Indian company, Brand Concepts to market and distribute her global range of handbags and accessories.

The American socialite will be in the city till September 27.

A 'choli' for Paris Hilton

Mumbai-based designer Rocky S is styling the world's most famous socialite, Paris Hilton, before and during her India visit. Yes, DT has learnt that Rocky S will be styling Hilton during her visit to the country, and has already met her earlier this month in Los Angeles.

Sharing the news with DT, Rocky said, "I am styling her for all her events and everything else during her visit to India. I also went to Los Angeles to shoot with her for a mag cover that she has done this month." On being asked about the look, Rocky refused to share details, but did say that Paris wore a choli!

And as far as her appearances in India are concerned, Paris only wants Indian looks, says Rocky, adding, "She only wants to wear Indian clothes when she comes here. I am putting a lot of designers' stuff together; she wants to wear Indian designers. She is excited about them because when we shot in LA, she really went crazy about the clothes. This is the first time that I've worked with her. And she is such an amazing woman. I think she is very intelligent, very well-travelled and knows exactly what looks good on her. And she is aware of her own transformation. She knows that this thing is in fashion or that thing will look nice on her, and she combines that with her own personality." Rocky also says that she's well-informed about Indian fashion and that's why he'll put multiple looks together for her to choose from, once she arrives here on September 24.

Adhyayan Suman introduced Kangna Ranaut to Paris Hilton!

There's much talk about who all are representing Paris Hilton in India, and have or have not approached Kangna for an endorsement - while the ones who have no clue about all the fuss here in India are Paris' own reps!

Paris Hilton's first touchdown in India was bound to create ripples - but her name is making waves even before her arrival. A few weeks ago, B-Town hottie Kangna Ranaut said that she had been approached to endorse Paris Hilton's line in India. Later, a PR from an event company saying they were Paris' India representatives rubbished Kangna's claims, and rubbed in the point embarrassingly with a curt, "Paris does not need a face to represent her anywhere in the world," and alleged that Kangna was using Paris' name for "cheap publicity".

The plot thickened when Kangna's ex-beau Adhyayan Suman said that he had introduced the actress to "good friend" Paris Hilton in Dubai, but Kangna, on her part, denied ever meeting Paris and said that the talks of being the face of her fashion line had taken place through representatives on both sides, but they did not materialise.

But now, the egg seems to be on the face of the offended party as the PR agency who denied that Paris had ever approached Kangna, has been disowned by the international socialite's official spokesperson! Confusing? You bet it is.

When DT tried to make sense of the situation and contacted Paris Hilton's official spokesperson in Los Angeles, Dawn Miller, this is what we learnt. Miller was first forwarded an e-mail from Pragya Narang, the senior partner and public relations head of Creme Talent Management, in which she had said, "Paris is a global mega star and is extremely miffed at these false, fabricated and bogus reports that Ms Kangna Ranaut is all set to be the face of her fashion line in India. Paris does not need a face to represent her, anywhere in the world.

As per Ms Geetika's (Kangna's publicist's) claims of receiving a business query from an international fashion brand, Kangna or her representatives are in no position to name Paris Hilton Fashions as the brand in question, because they are well aware that Kangna was never approached or offered such a deal from Paris. As for Kangna's claim that she has never met Paris, we still stand by our earlier statement that Kangna has indeed met Paris in Dubai, courtesy Paris's close friendship with her ex-boyfriend and actor Adhyayan Suman.

When they were dating, Adhyayan introduced her to the biggest names from the world of film and fashion, including his friend, Paris. Paris does not even remember meeting Kangna, let alone making her the face of her brand in India. She is contemplating taking legal action against Ms Kangna Ranaut for using her name for cheap publicity."

To this, Miller told DT, "On behalf of Paris Hilton and Paris Hilton Entertainment, I can confirm that we are unaware of any of the reported events currently in the press in India. Only Paris Hilton Entertainment is authorised to make business deals and represent Paris Hilton in India. Please direct any future inquiries to Paris Hilton Entertainment for confirmation. Closer to the date of the trip, we will issue an official press release to provide more information. Paris Hilton looks forward to her first visit to India."

On being asked if there had been any talks about Kangna being approached, Miller replied, "We are unaware of any of such discussions."

When Narang was told about Miller's comment about her not having the official stamp to represent Paris, she said, "This is surprising. I was asked to handle Paris's business queries in India by Jamie Freed. I will get back to Jamie on this. I have never interacted with Dawn Miller."

Jamie who? He is Paris Hilton's manager, apparently. But when we got back to Dawn Miller asking if Freed could have been in touch with Pragya Narang, Dawn reiterated, "No. I speak on behalf of Paris Hilton Entertainment and Jamie Freed." He said, she said? For now, it's only 'They all said, boo!'

Paris Hilton to launch her accessories line in India

Fashion-accessories company Brand Concepts will bring 250-300 Paris Hilton-branded items to Indian consumers when the fashion line is launched next week. It is the fashion-licensing partner for the soon-to-be-launched Paris Hilton handbags and accessories in India.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Abhinav Kumar, CEO, Brand Concepts, said the Paris Hilton line of accessories includes handbags, watches, fragrances and clutches at Rs 2,000 to Rs 12,000. Paris Hilton will launch the line in Mumbai on September 24, he said.

Brand Concepts is the exclusive licensee in India for Tommy Hilfiger (travel gear and small leather goods), Nickelodeon and Barbie back-to-school bags, Arrow small leather goods and the entire collection of Rocky S.

Commenting on the accessories market in India, Mr Kumar said revenues for brands from accessories in the country have jumped in the last three year. Sales of accessories, which used to be a mere 5-10 per cent of overall revenues, have now shot up to almost 25 per cent, indicating that spending on them has increased, he pointed out. “That's because a consumer always spends more judiciously on a branded accessory than apparel,” he explains.

Premium licensed brands of Brand Concepts are currently available in multi-brand outlets and 15 exclusive stores. For the Paris Hilton range, the company is setting up four exclusive outlets this year — in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai or Hyderabad — and will also make it available at multi-brand outlets, he said.

Paris Hilton’s work ethic praised; Google exec in town

One of Asia’s leading real estate firms, Century Properties, pulled out all the stops last month as it launched one of its biggest international collaborations of the year: its collaboration with Hollywood celebrity Paris Hilton for its premiere condominium development, Azure Urban Resort Residences, dahlings.

Manila was pandemonium from the day Paris Hilton landed. She came, she saw and she definitely conquered!

“Her unparalleled style, which made her a successful businesswoman and style icon, and her zest for living the good life are the qualities that we would like to incorporate into our vacation-inspired residential property,” said Century Properties chief operating officer John Victor “Jigger” R. Antonio.

Right après her arrival, Paris went straight to shoot her Azure project video and TV commercial.

Century Properties managing director Robbie Antonio said he was able to observe the celebrity’s professionalism and work ethic closely. She did not complain at all, he said, and always worked with a smile. She had no airs.

Members of the Antonio famille, led by José E.B. Antonio and wife Hilda Reyes Antonio, later joined Paris Hilton in posing for group photos with the Santorini-inspired architecture design of the new development as background.

That afternoon, Century Properties hosted a media conference for the world-renowned businesswoman at Peninsula Manila. “I am truly very proud to be a part of the Azure. It’s my very first real-estate venture and I love it,” she said.

“With her exposure to the best beaches of the rich and famous around the world, plus her fun and sensible fashion sense, we definitely made the right choice in partnering with someone who appreciates urban resort-style living,” explained Robbie Antonio.

A private dinner in Paris’ honor followed at the Pen’s Old Manila. They then went straight to the Rigodon ballroom to be introduced to Azure investors and Manila VIP’s.

She was very accommodating. She impressed everyone with her breeding.
“Everyone can expect that the new Azure campaign as well as Century Properties’ Azure Beach Club will have Paris’ indelible touch,” said Robbie Antonio.

“It’s been great and fun working with her,” Jigger Antonio said, “and we look forward to her return to Manila when we inaugurate Azure’s Beach Club.”

Valii
Watch fanatic that I am, Valii has always been one of my favorite watches; in fact, I have a couple in my watch collections, darlings. So when the invitation came for the launch of Valii’s latest eye-popping collection at Peninsula Manila’s Rigodon Ballroom, moi accepted at once.
The new fashionable timepieces live up to Valii’s heritage of elegance, luxury and style.

The collection is the brilliant brainchild of renowned jeweler Anita Chan. The brand represents, according to the press materials, “the fruition of her vision of fusing her elegant jewelry designs and the cutting-edge of today’s technology with the classic and timeless tradition of excellent Italian watchmaking.”

Bubbling like champagne, the designs stress “the importance of a product’s unique, inimitable appeal to stand out in Manila’s flourishing luxury market,” press materials said.

With their interchangeable rings and straps, Valii watches can be mixed and matched to suit any woman or man’s mood and lifestyle.

Despite the luxury tag, Valli is “well within everyone’s reach,” Chan said.

The Valii launch also marked Chan’s partnership with two long-time pals: hip, versatile fashion designer and vivacious Michele Sison, and advertising and marketing impresario Arnold Vegafria.

In fact, the launch of the collection was accompanied by a dazzling mini-fashion show by Michele, where models breezed around the ballroom flaunting the flashy, multicolor eye-catching “Gummy Scu” watches.
Valii, said Chan, is “the Mandarin’s translation for ‘elegance.’”
Check out Valii, exclusively available at Anita Chan boutique, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati. Call 8981459 or visit www.valii.eu.

In the great company of Cinderella and Google
At Masetto Resto, I got together with the royals of Cinderella Department Stores—Malou de Venecia, Therese Coronel Santos, eligible bachelor Richie Santos and Marielle Santos Po.
I was introduced to smart and witty Christine Songco-Lau, a close friend of Therese and head of developer relations for Google Southeast Asia.

She said she had been meeting with local universities, private companies and the government “to introduce Google technology and tools that developers need to build both mobile and web apps.”
“I have had several talks with local universities about Google and current technologies that are applied in their curriculum,” she added.

We all had fun. Great conversations combined with fantastic meals, prepared by chef Tippi Tambunting.

We ended the night and all agreed, “Wow, we ate too much.” But believe me, it was worth every bite—the yummy dishes and, more so, the fantastic and very interesting company, dahlings.
